Spider Lesson

Recently my older two were studying spiders, and my little one was studying the letter s.  We made a whole unit study out of spiders, and had so much fun.

This chalk craft was one of our favorites.  We found it here.

I've seen these guys made as several different animals and critters.  They are a very easy craft made from egg cartons, pipe cleaners, google eyes, and a little paint.  I love how different they made them.

My son was also studying line in Art during this time, so we included some spider webs into our artwork.  The one on the left is the best example of how the lines are supposed to go.

We also found some books about spiders during our library trip.  We read the following books:
World Book's Animals of the World: Spiders and Other Arachnids (I forgot to get the author)
Arachnid World: Tarantulas by: Sandra Markle
Arachnid World: Fishing Spiders by: Sandra Markle
There are some pretty interesting spider facts in these books.  My husband and I actually enjoyed these as much as the kids did.  An added bonus, after we read about the Tarantulas we saw one at the soccer field during practice.  My kids started blurting out facts to all the other kids.

We also visited the zoo and made sure to look for any spiders we could find.

Free December Numbers Download

I made a set of digital Christmas numbers, and I thought I'd share.

I am thinking about trying a digital December Daily this year, and I was needing some numbers for each day leading up to Christmas.

Each number is a separate PNG file, and you can download them here.

All I ask in return is that you leave a comment, so I know if you would like more free items.

I am linking up to the linky parties in the sidebar.

Under the Sea -

I made this layout with sketch 234 at Creative Scrappers.

I'm not sure that I love the layout.  I feel it needs something.

One of this months challenge words at Bird is the Word is sweet.   I think this picture is the idea image of sweet.  I love this age, and miss my babies being this small.

Fairy Gardens

Punky Scraps had a scrapbooking challenge to use this picture.

I decided to scrap one of the weekly crafts we do with the kids.  This week we had made Fairy Gardens for our yard.

I used the picture as inspiration for the layering, the colorful dots, and the circles stitching.  Be sure to go to Punky Scraps and see all the layouts created.

Instagram Friday

This is some of my week Instagram style.  I am linking this up to the Instagram Friday linky party in the sidebar.

I worked from home yesterday, and Brookie worked hard all morning taking care of this little guy.  I love that she loves her babies so much.
I found this little beauty while I was out for a walk.  I couldn't help but get a pic.
My hubby and I have started a new morning ritual.  We get up about 20 minutes earlier than we used to, so we can sit and drink some coffee and talk before we head out for the day.  It is becoming one of my favorite times of day.
Brookie (our youngest) asked Memphis (our oldest) to make her a pink rabbit before he left for school on Monday.  This is what he came up with.
