Halloween

I could not have been a more excited mom than when my kids decided to dress up like Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and 2.  I was thrilled.  Dr. Seuss is my favorite ever, and I love that they love his books too.

Plus the costumes were really simple to make, and for this busy mom simple is good.  It took me probably 2 hours max to make all 3 costumes.  

They had a lot of people stop them to take their picture while we were out Trick or Treating.  However, there were a few people who didn't get it.  They would say "Thing one and two" and give me a quizzical look.  To me that is sad that you could go through life without knowing the story of the Cat in the Hat.  The people from the library set up at Trunk or Treat loved it though!

Cat in the Hat Pumpkin

My son, who is in the 2nd grade, came home over Fall Break with a book report to complete.  Only this was about the most awesome book report I have ever heard of.

 He needed to decide on his favorite book and choose a character from it. He is really into Cat in the Hat right now (well actually any Dr. Seuss book for that matter.  Which makes this momma very happy).

Then after he decided on the character, the task was for he and his parents to create a pumpkin that was that book character.

I told you this was the most awesome book report ever!
